The Diabetes Club is a suport group for those living with diabetes and who are trying to improve their well-being by living a healthy lifestyle and getting active.  Meet on the running track at the CGC Mondays at 12:10 pm - 12:50 pm and Wednesdays 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm

This is a 4 week program to help members of the community who are living with diabetes learn how to bring balance to thier lives.  The program focuses on wellness, basic nutrition, getting active, goal setting, and fitness programming.  Tuesdays and Thursdays in October.

This is a one-day intensive workshop training health professionals in the Craving Change program.  Craving Change™ is a ground-breaking program that gives you the background, tools and confidence to help your clients improve their problematic eating behaviours.  Translates behaviour modification and cognitive-behaviour theory into a practical, “how-to” format. It offers you all the information and resources you need to revitalize your individual counseling approach and to lead innovative, dynamic group workshops with your clients.  Years of research clearly demonstrate that the cognitive-behavioural approach is an appropriate and successful model for people who struggle with their eating. A cognitive and behaviour modification approach has also been shown to promote long-term weight maintenance.

Each year, the Canadian Diabetes Association hosts a very popular professional conference in partnership with the Canadian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism. This highly regarded conference brings together internationally renowned educators, clinicians and scientists to share their expertise, ideas and experience, furthering diabetes knowledge and advances in Canada and beyond.  This year the Conference is held in Edmonton, Alberta between October 20th and 23rd.

Bring together educators, clinicians and scientists to share their expertise, ideas and experiences in diabetes

Fee: $160.00 to $510 depending when you register and your student/membership status

This four day course in diabetes education is ideal for health professionals who desire to enter the dynamic and rewarding field of diabetes education or for those who wish to update their skills and knowledge in this area. In a collaborative group setting, through lectures, large and small group discussions and case studies, participants will hear from various professionals who will highlight the critical knowledge, skills and strategies needed to increase their understanding of diabetes management and education.
